RIAHOF Receives Aero Club of New England’s Six-State Award-of-Excellence

In 2020, the Past Presidents of the Aero Club of New England unanimously elected the Rhode Island Aviation Hall of Fame to receive the Aero Club’s Six-State Award-of-Excellence for the strong effort put forth by the RIAHOF in preserving Rhode Island’s rich aviation history.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, presentation of the actual award was delayed until April 2021, when ACONE Past President David Graham, made the actual presentation during a Zoom call.

“It is with great pleasure that I present the Rhode Island Aviation Hall of Fame with the Aero Club of New England 2020 Presidential Award…honoring the magnificent effort the Hall of Fame has accomplished during its 18-year existence.”

The Aero Club of New England was founded in Boston in 1902 as a ballooning organization, nearly two full years before the first powered flight by the Wright Brothers.

The leadership, volunteers and staff of RIAHOF are honored to have received this recognition.
